The Xplod MEX-BT2900 is a CD audio receiver from Sony that offers a step-down from the company's Xplod MEX-BT3900U model. Utilizing an iPod control-ready interface that supports direct auxiliary inputting as well as device charging, this model features a detachable faceplate that can display time, date, track and station data for an optimal audio experience.

User content playback options include Mp3 and WMA audio formats, playable from CD, CD-R and CD-RW disc types. Bluetooth wireless connectivity enables hands-free call support for maximized driver safety, with phone book access ported directly to the unit's display interface. Both satellite and high-definition radio formats are supported via Sony's bus port adapters, providing seamless over-air reception of both AM and FM channels. In addition, RDS (Radio Data System) technology provides up-to-the-minute track information including song, title and artist data. The MEX-BT2900 also features key illumination backlighting for full support at night and in other low-light situations.
