Pioneer FH-P800BT

$300.00 Released January, 2008

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Great looking design, very sleek and modern without being overly flashy. Can shut off the display completely while it is operating, great for long-distance late-night drives. Gives you full access to sound-shaping tools such as EQ, cross-fade, subwoofer boost, etc.

The Cons:Blue illumination is very bright, even after dimming - can be distracting at night. The loss of audio quality through Bluetooth is very noticeable, get a hiss that is especially noticeable at high volumes.

The Pioneer FH-P800BT is a double-DIN in-dash A/V head unit in the moderate price range. It can handle radio, CDs, MP3 players and USB flash players. The CD reciever itself has a built in MOSFET amplifier (14 watts RMS CEA-2006/50 peak x 4 channels) and can handle CD-R/RW.

It is ready for XM, HD and Sirus satellite radio and is also ready for an iPod.  Bluetooth is built in, so the car's stereo system can be used for hands free calling. The Pioneer FH-P800BT takes care of the problem of music interfereing with a phone call by automatically muting the music when a phone call is received through a phone hooked up to the system. The Pioneer FH-P800BT is bulkier than other Pioneer A/V head units which means it takes up more of the dashboard but also has easier to read menu options.
