The Pros:IPod connection is responsive and easy to work with. Blue color looks great at night, easy on the eyes. Supports extra subwoofers without needing a separate amp, clearly defined bass range.
The Cons:2 line display can only show a little information at a time. Takes a long time to scroll through artists on USB and iPod.
The DEH-P5900IB is one of Pioneer's upper-middle level car CD receivers. Like the closely related DEH-P590IB, this receiver has built-in iPod controls, so that you can operate, play and charge your iPod with the DEH-P5900IB.

Also like the DEH-P590IB, this receiver has a 7-way rotary control knob, which allows you to access all the functions of the DEH-5900IB, as well as scroll through the tracks on a given CD. The OEL (Organic Electro-Luminescent) display has three lines and shows up to 16 characters at once, so that the track and artist information will not be cut off or abbreviated on the display. Provided they are burned onto a CD, the DEH-P590IB will play MP3s, WMAs and AACs. When you play these files on your receiver, the BMX (Bit Media eXpander) will make them sound like CD quality. Like most of Pioneer's car CD receiver offerings, the DEH-P5900IB will be able to access XM and Sirius satellite radio with the addition of the Pioneer digital satellite tuner.
