The JVC KD-HDR40 is a basic CD Receiver with a number of expansion capabilities. It has a built-In HD radio tuner for clearer radio where available, and it is Satellite radio ready. It is also ready to work with Bluetooth devices with the addition of an optional add-on.

It can play regular CDs, or MP3 and WMA files.

Four 50 watt outputs send audio to the speakers, and auxiliary front 2.5 volt and subwoofer lines are also available. A front AUX input allows for any number of devices to work with the receiver, and an advanced multi-bit DAC works to improve sound quality.
