The Eclipse AVX5000 is the only non-navigation DVD automotive entertainment system offered by Eclipse. Since this system does not include navigation, it is optimized for multiformat entertainment and includes audiofile quality circuits.

Audio formats include CD/CD-R/CD-RW, MP3, WMA and ATRAC3 and can be upgraded for SIRIUS radio and iPod control. Features such as 7-band Parametric EQ and speaker Time Alignment give the user maximum control over the sound, and optional 5.1 surround provides even greater quality. The retracting 7" TFT monitor is touch sensitve providing easy control.  The twin security system includes a detachable front plate, and ESN system lock, which is unlocked by user-designated CD or USB device.  The amplifer in the AVX5000 is a MOSFET 50W x 4.
