Clarion VZ309

$400.00 Released January, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Build quality is rugged and reliable - incorporates less of the cheap, "plasticky" components common to lower-level receivers. Minimal/simplistic design is preferred by many users - compliments dash lighting and reduces on-the-road distractions. Screen is large and clear - TFT color reproduction is vivid, especially when brightness level has been optimized.

The Cons:Lacks automatic power-on function - severe disadvantage as compared to units that start when the vehicle is turned on. Drive contents (CD or DVD) will play automatically upon power-up, regardless of what was last played - sure to cause frustration amongst users, requiring discs to be ejected after each use. Prone to the "DVD loop issue" - powering the unit down while watching a DVD results in a continuous loop of only that chapter next time the unit is powered up.

The Clarion VZ309 is an in-car multimedia A/V receiver which provides up to 200 watts of peak power.  The receiver is designed with a flip down face and a 3.5" color TFT display with adjustable brightness.
