The Boss 815CA is a basic low-cost CD player and radio tuner. The detachable front panel features an oversized, active black mask display with illuminated buttons. The sound system features a 5 Volt preamp output, as well as four channels of 80 Watts.

There are controls for bass, treble, balance, fader, and loudness. The AM/FM tuner can store 24 station presets and be switched between USA and European radio frequencies. A wireless remote control is included.
